Dirt, Dirt Everywhere and All for the Women to Clean

06/20/2015, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

In the 1850s, without electricity, houses were set up for the seasons. Winter’s heavy drapes and wool rugs are put out to help keep in the warmth.  In the spring everything must be cleaned and aired out to freshen up the home.  At Barrington spring cleaning occurs in June, so visitors may see interpreters washing dishes and glassware or cleaning and waxing the furniture throughout the Jones’ home.  Activities will be ongoing and as needed. Barrington Living History Farm. Reservations not required. (936) 878-2214 ext. 246.
