Henry Fanthorp’s Wake – A Look at Death and Mourning in 19th Century Texas

Location: Fanthorp Inn

“Henry’s Wake” will take a look at the ceremonies and rituals of death in 19th century Texas. The unfortunate death of Henry Fanthorp, proprietor of one of Texas’ most successful stagecoach inns, on October 31, 1867 reminds us of the fragile state of life in the 19th century. This famous innkeeper and his wife were but a small portion of the souls who met their demise at Fanthorp’s stagecoach Inn.

Presentations (not recommended for children under 10 years) will be by reservation only for 7:00, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45, 8:00 and 8:15 p.m. and will last approximately 50 minutes.

Reservations open September 1, 2015.
