Christmas on the Brazos

12/07/2018 - 12/08/2018, 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for our annual Candlelight Christmas at Barrington Living History Farm. New this year, the event will take place two days on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8.

Walk the candlelit paths at Barrington Farm and experience a Texas Christmas in the decade before the Civil War.  Discover the origins of some of our favorite Holiday traditions as costumed interpreters bring to life the festivities of the season with musket-fire, music, dancing and more!  Tour the historic home of the last President of the Republic, Dr. Anson Jones, as the family enjoys their Christmas gathering.  Visit the farm’s quarters to hear how the enslaved at Barrington celebrated the season.  Shop for unique Texas gifts in the Park Gift Shop, sip a hot cup of cider, cozy up to the fire and begin your Holiday season with Texas State Parks! Contact Barb King at 936-878-2214 x246.

$10 for adults, $5 for student, $25 for Family (2 adults, up to 5 students).

Tickets sold the nights of the event at the Washington-on-the-Brazos Visitor Center between 4:30pm and 8pm.

Visitors will board a wagon and ride from Visitor Center to Barrington Farm for their Tour.

Accessible Parking will be located at Barrington Farm. All other parking will be at the Visitor Center.

Gift Shop will remain open until 8:15pm. The Shop will be full of holiday gifts and unique Texas themed items

While people wait for their ride to Barrington Farm there will be a campfire in the Childress Courtyard with Carolers, hot coffee and cider, cookies to enjoy.
