White Gold: Cotton in Texas
10/01/2022 - 10/02/2022, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location: Barrington Living History Farm
Selling cotton picked by those enslaved was the main source of Barrington’s income – a cash crop. This special program gives visitors the hands-on opportunity to work alongside historic interpreters picking and weighing cotton from the fields, seeing how close or how far the harvested amount comes to the average daily standard—100 lbs.!
