Washington-on-the-Brazos is undergoing extensive renovation projects going on throughout the park which make it necessary for us to amend our typical Texas Independence Day Celebration. Instead of the traditional celebration with vendors, performances and large-scale living history demonstrations, we have opted to celebrate Independence Eve, with a concert on Friday night and a solemn remembrance ceremony on Saturday, presented by the Sons of the Republic of Texas. It will be a different Texas Independence Day that in the past, but once the renovation is complete in 2025, we will be back to our traditional celebration!
Independence Eve is sponsored by Texas Historical Commission, HEB, Washington County, the City of Navasota, the Arts Council, Bluebonnet Electric, Bluebell Ice Cream.
