March 2 Schedule

Join us at Independence Hall as we honor the 59 signers that declared Independence 188 years ago from that very spot on March 2, 1836.
10:00am – 1:00pm
THC Sites (Presidio La Bahia SHS, Fort McKavett SHS, Eisenhower Birthplace SHS, Casa Navarro SHS and Washington-on-the-Brazos SHS) from around the state will compete in a chili cookoff making the dish in the traditional way they would have done in the 1800s. The public will not be able to sample the chili due to food safety regulations.
1:30pm – 3:30pm
The Lone Star Chapter of the Sons of the Republic will hold their annual ceremony at the amphitheater with talks and a gun salute.
Food trucks will be available for onsite for purchase.
Admission fees are waived for Barrington Plantation.
